Doggie Day Care Fun with Gypsy

Little Ms Gypsy is a yorkie mix that comes in for daycare everyday. She loves to help us spread the dog hair around the salon a little more than we would like to. She is a hoot and makes us laugh.

Mooseball truffles

What is a Mooseball truffle? Its a decadent melt in your mouth truffle. A little cream cheese, curshed oreo cookies, crushed pecans and a good roll in a chocolate bath and you have a Mooseball. How about peanut butter mooseballs? Use peanut butter instead of cream cheese. They are easy to make and taste like you slaved all day, well in fact you did! But it was all fun and a highly caloric. I think I will add another mile to my walk to burn off the mooseballs I couldn't resist. Happy Howlidays

Who wears the pants in this family?

Even though our beloved home team doesn't look like we are going to have a playoff season, Buddy still shows his support for our team. He decided that he wanted to wear the pants in the family this month and they had to be Charger pants, of course. Maybe they Chargers should consider having Buddy at the games for Good Luck!

Charger hits the mega jackpot!

Well I am a little late in posting good news about Charger. He has a great new home in Sin City...Las Vegas!!! He has a playmate and kids to clean up after. His new mom and dad work from home so he has people around him all the time now. He won the jackpot with this family.

We want to thank Rebecca Stevens of 4 Paws Coonhound Rescue and her gracious staff at 4 Paws Flying Pet Resort for all their hard work and help in placing Charger with his new family. THANK YOU!!

Abandoned Lab needs home

Male, neutered, Yellow Lab, 1 yr old, current vaccines.

Charger came in for a bath and nail trim to Cat & Doggie Works Pet Salon, but sadly his parents never returned for him, he had been abandoned. He is now available for adoption and wants a new home.

He is a big beefy male about 85lbs, very strong and has high energy. He would do great in a big yard, (with other dogs!), dock diving, running, etc. He is very social and well mannered and gets along great with other dogs! If you want a happy Lab, this is the one!! Got a pool? He would love to swim forever. Water is his middle name!!

He is currently being cared for at 4 Paws Flying Pet Resort in the Lakeside/Blossom Valley area. They would be happy to show him to you during their business hours. A small donation to Coon Hound Rescue would be appreciated.

Here is the application: http://members.petfinder.com/~CA945/FPCRAdoptionForm_03_2008.pdf
You can fax it to the number listed on the application.

Be careful this Halloween

Dress up fun for pets

Howl-o-ween a fun time of year for pets and children alike. Whether you want your pet in a costume or whether you want them colored, all sorts of fun things can happen. Take Uma a little white poodle who needs no reason to dress up! Uma loves to play with colors this year she opted for gory green ears with the pumpkin orange body stripe and top knot. She loves to have her nails too painted as well and opted for "pleasing pumpkin" this year. You should see her as she struts through downtown La Mesa.

To color our dogs we use a safe non-toxic blow pen that is actually used for children's art. It will wash out on her next bath. If you'd like to have your pet's nails done we also offer a special polish specifically made for pets dries quick and is not as harsh as human nail polish.

Why not treat your pet do something special? Body coloring and nail polish is very affordable and a fun way to make your pet stand out from the rest. Coloring generally only works on light colored dogs and cats. Nail polish can be used on any color nails, and we don't recommend it for cats.
